The Unthinkable

Yesterday I did something that I have not done since Daryl and I lived in Lubbock.

I mowed.

It was only some of the back yard, but I did it.

Then I told my husband how much I love and appreciate him for taking care of our yard work every week.

Then I played with Karsen and Griffin in our kiddie pool.

Please don't be jealous! It is not always this glamorous at the Salyards' house!

After church and a delicious lunch at Furr's I had spent the afternoon watching 3 episodes of Criminal Minds while my kids napped. I was feeling guilty (see previous post) so the mowing actually helped!

Way to go Jennifer! How much of the yard would you estimate that you mowed?

I know - yea! me... I mowed 1/2 of the back yard. BUT it was the area with the giant swing set so it was difficult to get around - many passes back and forth, in and out of swings and under slides. That makes it worth MUCH more! I was so shocked at how good it was for my guilt that I think I might do it again sometime in the next 4 years!

Very good. I mow the yard occasionally at our house but I do it for the wrong reasons. I want to see if Chris notices.

Way to go Jen! I do not mow the yard. I have not mowed the yard since Alan & I started dating, and before that I hired a boy down the street to "do it when he thought it looked bad" which was probably a little more often than it needed it because he probably just wanted the money. Anyway I'm proud of you, that most definitely counter-acts the t.v. watching.

I never minded mowing UNTIL I saw a snake the size of Texas in my backyard. Okay, it wasn't the size of Texas but it was BIG. Okay, so I didn't see the SNAKE but I saw it's skin. I did. It was over 7 feet long too. Talk about C R E E P Y.

I thankfully do not even know how to work the mower...and if you try to tell me I'll stick my fingers in my ears and start humming, "Da-da-da-da-da-da-HEY. Da-da-dum."

Good job, Jennifer.

Good job! I would do it if I needed to...but I don't usually have to...I don't mind though...I was taught by a perfectionist mother so it has to be just right...and I would probably do it for the same reasons Bek gave:)

I have never mowed a yard! I know this is sad. My mom was always afraid for me to drive the mower and then I had the good ol apt and then a husband!
I made a blog please let me know what you think!!

If any of you let my husband know that you mow the yard or clean floors on your hands and knees, I am never speaking to any of you again! (not that I've ever talked to any of you before anyway, well, except for Angie, of course, but I digress...) Anyway, what I'm trying to say is keep it to yourself if you decide to be all wonder woman around your house!!!

ok, I am REALLY getting tired of having a separate login from my husband. Sarah and Rebekah, how do you guys avoid accidentally posting comments using their names?!?!? Anyway, that post above was written by me, JR, and not Rob. He was still logged in and I didn't realize it. Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.

Good thing, Jenny because for a second, I thought Rob had indeed found out about all of this business and was just pretending to be you pretending to be him. Glad you cleared that up.

I threw up again with the Rob/Robertson thing.

JR--we don't have login problems because Sarah and I use our laptops and our husbands use the desktop computers.
